The P Zero which was launched back in 1987 has continued to be used in motor sport due to its enhanced control, handling, braking performance and is also excellent in wet conditions which is why it is now a standard tyre on a lot of premium vehicles. The P Zero, winter Sottozero 3 and Scorpion Zero All Season has also gained original equipment (OE) approval from BMW, Land Rover, VW, and Volvo. Therefore meaning it equates to 50% of Pirelli's entire portfolio.

In 2016 Pirelli decided that the Geneva Auto Show would be the best place to showcase its success in ‘prestige’ and ‘premium’ of the European car market. It was at this show that it was revealed Pirelli had 51% market share of the prestige vehicle fitments and 32% market share of the premium vehicle fitments which only goes to show why they are amongst the fifth largest tyre operators in the world.
