A softer brake pedal

The Braking System explained:

A vehicles braking system comprises of mechanical, electronic and hydraulically activated parts which use friction & heat to stop a moving vehicle.

When the brake pedal is pressed it moves a piston within the master cylinder. Brake fluid is then forced through from the master cylinder and through to the brake lines. Brake fluid has a very important role in the braking system because it helps to transfer the force created when you press your brake pedal. The brake fluid also serves as a lubricant of all movable parts and prevents corrosion.

The brakes pads should also be regularly inspected – this is possibly one of the most important parts of your brake parts; It is vital that your brake pads are intact as they are the main component that makes contact with and applies pressure to a vehicles brake rotors.

If any of these components in your braking system are faulty the brakes will not perform effectively – your brakes are ultimately the most important safety feature of your vehicle and simply must be 100% effective every time!
